Lyle House Care Home Extension – Retirement Home

Lyle House Care Home was purpose-built for the Care Sector in 1995 and originally existed as a three-storey building with 45 beds. Horizon Building Contractors were approached to renovate the building by adding a fourth floor, increasing the total number of bedrooms to 71.

The renovation and new build extension also included a small extension at ground floor and (a now an even larger) reception area and adjoining lounge/dining room. The remaining space was then turned into a café, library, and hairdressers.

As the care home stayed fully operational during the build, Horizon building contractors worked in close collaboration with Lyle house, managing and scheduling to work around the care home and staff, to eliminate any potential health and safety risks to the existing residents, staff and visitors as well as their own Care Home Builders on site.
