David and the Horizon team have carried out several refurbishment works at Summer Lane Care Home, Diamond Batch, Weston-super-Mare. Summer Lane is a nursing home which accommodates people who require very high-level nursing care, Dementia care and complex-care needs. The works completed were the refurbishment of bathrooms, bedrooms etc, to accommodate the special needs of the people in our care.
It was exceptionally important to us that the needs of our residents with Dementia were considered, especially as the majority of this work needed to be carried out in a ‘live environment’ around the daily activities of our residents. David was very conscious of the fact that this team were working in a safe way both for our residents and his tradesmen.
We were very impressed with procedures that were in place to ensure that tools and ‘work in progress’ environments were secure and did not create any elements of risk to our residents.
